Principal's Welcome Letter

Hello Sequoia Families,

Welcome to another great year!  I am looking forward to serving as Sequoia Middle School's principal.  Sequoia Middle School has a reputation of excellence.  As I enter into my eighteenth year with Redding School District, I am proud to call myself a Sequoia Spartan!   Sequoia is a school filled with opportunities and diverse programs that captures the interest of each student.  I would like to take this opportunity  to introduce Molly Stimpel, Assistant Principal at Sequoia.  Mrs. Stimpel has been serving Redding School district for 24 years.

We can't wait to see you as we kick off another action packed school year!

As we begin a new school year, please remember that school begins at 8:30 am and ends at 3:00 pm.  Also, each Wednesday (except the first and last Wednesday of the year) is a minimum day.  Minimum days allow teachers and staff to work together to plan and focus on individual student learning and programs that challenge all students.

Schedule Pick Up Day will be Tuesday, August 12th in the gym beginning at 8:00 am.  There is a new Student Orientation for new 7th and 8th graders and a 4th and 5th Grade orientation that day, as well.  New 6th Grade Student Orientation will be the first day of school, which is the 18th of August.  A bell schedule will also be handed out showing  a regular day schedule and a minimum day schedule (which is each Wednesday except for the first and last week of school).

Please remember that you are always welcome to call or stop by our office.  If you need to ask questions, etc., we will be happy to help you.  Sequoia's number is 225-0020.

We are looking forward to this year and the promise of growth for our students.
